For the fourth time in two years, high school students at Northwest Christian Schools have been hard at work on a special project for patients at Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital. Students in NWCS’ Home Living class, and their teacher, Lisa Greer, made and delivered “PICC Pal” pillows for young patients at the children’s hospital. The pillows are meant to go between the child’s skin and their PICC (peripherally inserted central catheter line). The PICC is placed in their forearm to provide chemo therapy or other long-term treatments.

The students made 210 pillows in the shapes of different animals and objects.

On May 23rd, Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital Director of Development, Mary Savage, came to NWCS to meet the Home Living Class and receive the PICC Pals from the students.
